National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences(NIMHANS)

The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences is a medical institution in Bangalore, India. NIMHANS is the apex centre for mental health and neuroscience education in the country. It is an Institute of National Importance operating autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare NIMHANS is ranked 4th best medical institute in India, in the current National Institutional Ranking Framework. The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences is a multidisciplinary institute for patient care and academic pursuit in the frontier area of mental health and neurosciences. The priority gradient adopted at the institute is service, manpower development and research. A multidisciplinary integrated approach is the mainstay of this institute, paving the way to translate the results from the bench to the bedside. Several national and international funding organizations provide resources for academic and research activities.

Regional Institute of Medical Sciences(RIMS), Imphal, Manipur

The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) was established on 14 September 1972 in the name of the Regional Medical College. It is situated in a locality at Lamphelpat in Manipur, India. It is run by a society named “North Eastern Regional Medical College Society” which was duly registered under the Manipur Societies Registration Act, 1989.The institute is a 1,074 bed teaching hospital, having an intake capacity of 125 undergraduate, 146 Postgraduate Degree and 2 Postgraduate Diploma seats. The hospital normally provides services to more than 2.4 lakh out-door patients and admits over 31 thousand patients in a year. It has MEDLINE access from WHO, Tele-medicine Centre, Regional Medical Library, Advanced Hospital Information and Management System etc. The institute is affiliated to the Manipur University, Imphal and fulfills the prescribe norms of the Medical Council of India (MCI).The campus of the institute occupies 192 acres (0.78 km2) of land.

Central Institute of Psychiatry(CIP) Ranchi

The institute dates back to the days of the British Raj in India. The British established this hospital on 17 May 1918 with the name of ‘Ranchi European Lunatic Asylum’. It had then a capacity of 174 patients (92 males and 82 females). It catered to the needs of the European mental patients only and it was under the direct control and management of Government of Bihar (then, Jharkhand was a part of Bihar). In 1922, it was put under the control of a board of trustees with various participating state governments represented in the Board and in the very same year its name was changed to ‘European Mental Hospital’. The year 1922 is also notable for the fact that the institute was affiliated to the University of London for the Diploma in Psychological Medicine examination. It was a unique phenomenon since the postgraduate training in Psychiatry was nonexistent in India in those days.

Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Medical College(JNMMC), Raipur Chhattisgarh

Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Medical College is a government medical college and hospital in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. It was founded on 9 September 1963, and recognised by the Medical Council of India in 1969.The college is one of the oldest institutions in state of Chhattisgarh. The B. R. Ambedkar Memorial Hospital established in 1995 in the college campus is the affiliated teaching hospital. The radiotherapy department of this medical college is a government approved Regional Cancer Centre.

ICMR - Centre for Ageing & Mental Health (ICMR-CAMH) Kolkata

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, the apex body in India for the formulation, coordination and promotion of biomedical research, is one of the oldest medical research bodies in the world.The ICMR has always attempted to address itself to the growing demands of scientific advances in biomedical research on the one hand, and to the need of finding practical solutions to the health problems of the country, on the other. The ICMR has come a long way from the days when it was known as the IRFA, but the Council is conscious of the fact that it still has miles to go in pursuit of scientific achievements as well as health targets.

Rishi Valley Health Centre, Chittoor, AP

The Rural Health Centre, an outreach programme of the Rishi Valley Education Centre, was set up in July 1999, when a doctor (an old student) joined Rishi Valley with an intent of working with the rural poor.  Approximately 60 revenue villages with a Below Poverty Line population of 200,000, located in the northern parts of Chittoor, contiguous parts of Anantpur and YSR (Kadapa) districts in AP and adjoining parts of Karnataka state. Annual patient load of 22000. 98% of patients have an annual income of < 48000. 2500 children (< 15 years) provided free/subsidised treatment and investigations annually. 30 – 50 children treated free at Secondary/Tertiary Care centres annually. 2500 elderly patients (> 65 years) provided free/subsidised treatment and investigations annually. 70 – 80% of adult patient load is Non-Communicable Diseases – primarily Diabetes, Hypertension 20 – 30 pregnant women registered annually; Institutional Deliveries; Increase in birth weight and decrease in Infant and Maternal Mortality

Centre for Development of Advanced Computing(C-DAC) Bengaluru

The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) is an Indian autonomous scientific society, operating under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Further information: Supercomputing in India and PARAM C-DAC was created in November 1987, initially as the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing Technology (C-DACT). In 1988, the US Government refused to sell India a Cray supercomputer due to concerns about India using it to develop nuclear weapons. In response India started development of its own supercomputer, and C-DACT was created as part of this programme. Dr Vijay Bhatkar was hired as the director of C-DACT. The project was given an initial run of three years and an initial funding of ₹30,00,00,000, the cost of a Cray supercomputer. A prototype computer was benchmarked at the 1990 Zurich Super-computing Show. It demonstrated that India had the second most powerful, publicly demonstrated, supercomputer in the world after the United States. The final result of the effort was the PARAM 8000, released in 1991. The National Centre for Software Technology (NCST), Electronic Research and Development Centre (ER&DC) and CEDTI were merged into C-DAC in 2003.

International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore(IIIT) - Bengaluru​

The International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (abbreviated IIIT Bangalore or IIITB) is a premier research Deemed university in Bangalore, India. The institute is a registered not-for-profit society funded jointly by the Government of Karnataka and the IT industry under a public-private partnership model. IIIT Bangalore is managed by a Governing Body with Kris Gopalakrishnan, co-founder, Infosys Ltd., as the chairperson. The university was established on 18 September 1998 as the Indian Institute of Information Technology, with its campus at International Tech Park. Professor Sadagopan, who had earlier served at IIT Kanpur and IIM Bangalore became its founding Director. It functioned at that location for four years, and relocated to its present campus in Electronic City in August 2003. On July 4, 2021, at the 21st convocation of the institute, Professor Sadagopan handed over the responsibility of Director of IIIT Bangalore to his long time colleague Professor Debabrata Das.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS) Kalyani, West Bengal​

All India Institute of Medical Sciences Kalyani is a Public hospital and Medical school in Saguna, Kalyani, West Bengal, India. It is one of the AIIMS and Institutes of National Importance. The institute was announced in 2014 and approved on 7 October 2015, and Its construction started in 2016. As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare notification published in The Gazette of India on 24 January 2018, it was established by Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) initiative. AIIMS Kalyani started operation in 2019, which was one of six AIIMSs that started operation autonomously that year. The institution has a 960 bedded super specialty hospital with a medical college. Hospital and AYUSH have 920 beds, and the remaining 40 beds are in OPD. The super specialty hospital has 34 departments including Anaesthesiology, Biochemistry, Anatomy, Cardiology and Physiology. It is an undergraduate and postgraduate institution that enrolls 211 students yearly. The yearly MBBS intake is 125 from 2020 and selection is done through NEET(UG). There is also a B.Sc. Nursing College.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS) Jodhpur

All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jodhpur (AIIMS Jodhpur; IAST: Akhil Bharatiya Aayurvigyan Sansthan Jodhpur) is a medical institute and medical research public university located in Jodhpur, India. It is considered an Institute of National Importance, and is one of twenty All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). It was established in 2014 and operates autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The institute is mandated in medical education, research, patient care and the establishment of models for an affordable and quality healthcare through innovations. AIIMS Jodhpur is governed under AIIMS Act, 1956. All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jodhpur (IR-D-U-0689) ranked 16th and 13th in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of Ministry of Education for Medical category in years 2022 and 2023 respectively.Thus, it is the 2nd best AIIMS, after AIIMS, new Delhi.
